1. Why have the In‑Person Tours to Qatar and the UAE been cancelled?
We have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s in‑person tours to the Middle East region due to ongoing missile strikes and wider instability across the Middle East. The safety and wellbeing of learners, teachers and LAMDA examiners must always come first. This decision is based on current risks and the uncertainty of the situation.
2. Will the exams still take place?
Yes. Instead of in‑person exams, we are offering Remote Online Assessments (ROAs) on the same scheduled date, beginning at 10:00am local time.
3. How similar are ROAs to in‑person exams?
ROAs have been carefully designed to replicate the in‑person experience as closely as possible. While there are natural differences, the format, standards and assessment criteria remain the same.
4. Can I change the exam date?
Absolutely. If you prefer to take the ROA exam on a different date, please tell us your preferred date(s) and we will arrange the booking for you.
5. What if I do not want to take the exam online?
If you would prefer not to proceed with an ROA, you may cancel your exams. We will issue a full refund for any cancelled entries.
6. Why are you making this decision now?
Our priority is to give centres, teachers and learners as much time as possible to plan ahead. Although the situation in the region may improve, there is no guarantee, and we feel it is necessary to take a cautious and responsible approach.
7. Are other in‑person tours affected?
At present, all other in‑person tours are going ahead as planned. However, LAMDA continues to closely monitor global developments and will always make decisions based on the safety of teachers, learners and examiners.
We will always aim to make decisions promptly and share information with you as soon as possible to support your planning.
8. Who can I contact if I have questions or want to discuss options?
If you have any questions or would like to speak with us by phone or email, please get in touch. We are here to support you and ensure your learners feel safe and well‑prepared.
