Centre Coordinators need to be available throughout the exams in case they need to support LAMDA stewards or examiners, as well as parents/learners.
Room requirements:
The learner should be the only person in the room.
There should be nothing on the walls or surfaces of the room which can aid with the exam (this should be demonstrable by moving the camera if requested).
Mirrors must be covered
Learners should not have windows behind them unless covered
All furniture that could impede or clutter the examiners’ view should be moved to the side.
For Speaking in Public medal grades:
Learners must have a table/desk to write their impromptu speech, the top of which is clear except for writing implements. This must be fully visible during the speech preparation.
For the delivery of speeches, the learner must be able to reposition the camera so they are fully visible from the knees upward.
For acting exams, greater visibility of the learner's body may be required - please see the attached guide for a breakdown of the requirements for different disciplines.
Learners’ visual aids cannot be displayed using “share screen” on the examining device, so if they are using digital aids (e.g. PowerPoint) these must be on a separate device demonstrated to be in airplane mode.
Technical setup:
All exams take place via Zoom, which will need to be installed in advance and tested for sound and video.
Each different room will have its own Zoom link and password which you need to manage and communicate to parents/learners. These will be available directly through Exam Track..
Centre stage and blurred background must be turned off.
There is 5 minutes of contingency time scheduled for our stewards to check all these room and video requirements before each exam. During this time, parents are allowed to be present to help ensure everything is set up correctly.
