Depending on the order in which the Learner wishes to take components of their exam, the exam will officially start when the Learner introduces their first piece, or when the Examiner asks the first knowledge question. From this point onwards, the exam will be conducted in line with all relevant requirements, criteria and regulations.

From entering the exam room, up to this point, the Examiner will conduct the administrative checks. This ensures that the Learner who has walked in is the right person and that they are entered for the correct Subject and Grade. Should a Change of Subject / Grade be required, it must be actioned at this stage, otherwise the Examiner will assess the Learner against the relevant requirements, criteria and regulations for the subject and grade provided on their paperwork.
