LAMDA welcomes Learners from all over the world and encourages
performances in a wide range of individual accents. Whilst taking examinations,
LAMDA encourages Learners to find clarity and intelligibility within their own
accent rather than speaking in any particular accent.No one is penalised for the tune of their accent. No one is penalised for the tune of their accent.
Learners will need to be clear, articulate and appropriately expressive in respect of the material content. With verse, attention must be paid to the rhythm and beat of the verse and how these may be affected in delivery.

There is no requirement for learners to adopt an accent for a piece that has been written for a character with a particular dialect or accent, providing that the piece still makes sense and the authors intent is still clear. If the learner does choose to adopt an accent, this must be sustained throughout the piece ensuring fluency and focus are not affected.
