We recommend Teachers and Learners to cast with sensitivity and consideration of the themes and experiences of the character portrayed, particularly in relation to age, religion, race, gender and disability.
Learners can play characters of any age, religion, race, gender and disability where it is suitable for the individual Learner and where the part can be played positively with full consideration of cultural sensitivity.
Unless explicitly stated in the Examination Content, Learners presenting a published or Set text should not change the text. Character names and pronouns should remain as originally written by the playwright/author.
