Our examinations have no age restrictions. We encourage teachers and parents to decide which grade best suits each Learner's individual abilities.
We recommend that teachers make a decision with the Learner and review the syllabus content, requirements, supporting materials and Anthologies (where applicable) to determine the most suitable grade.
For reference:
• Level 2 examinations (Grades 4–5) sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) alongside GCSE exams.
• Level 3 regulated examinations (Grades 6–8) carry UCAS points and sit on the RQF alongside A Level exams.
For Level 2 and Level 3 examinations, Learners are expected to demonstrate the maturity and depth of understanding, as well as the knowledge and skills, typically required for GCSE and A Level study.
