The value of the qualifications do not expire, however UCAS will only automatically validate points from the last 12 months.  So, if by the time the learner wishes to apply the points accrued, the qualification is slightly older, they should include it in their application, the points are applied and they would be asked by the University for the certificate instead of it being automatically validated.
