Movement and gesture should subtly enhance the performance of a sonnet and not overpower the language. Movement, gestures, stances should not be arbitrarily included, they should

fit the piece.

‘Use of the space’ could mean movement into a space, gestures to refer to a space, looks or glances, what is appropriate to the piece.

The slight shift has come with a view that the sonnets as a verse form offer the opportunity for the learner to apply their understanding of character, speech and style to make informed choice as to how they execute each element and own the space - in a slightly different way to the reading/delivery of a poem.
