Edits cannot be made to Set Pieces except when language (such as an expletive) is present that could be deemed too mature for the Learner(s). In this case that word can be swtiched to a more appropriate alternative, however the context of the piece and the authors intentions must remain unchanged.
Edits can be made to Own Choice Pieces, as long as the piece still makes sense, and the authors intent is still clear.
You can remove a character’s lines to make a duologue scene a monologue. You can also edit two monologues together, as long as the two monologues are originally spoken by the same character within the play.
You cannot combine two monologues spoken by different characters.
Please ensure the final piece used enables the Learner to meet the assessment criteria and answer the knowledge questions.
