The LAMDA Level 1 Award in Shakespeare for Performance is designed to support Learners in developing basic skills when performing a Shakespeare text.

It is set on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) at Level 1, which is equitable to GSCEs.

At Level 1, Learners are required to perform one set piece from the provided speeches, taken from a play written by William Shakespeare.

Learners will perform from memory one set speech from a play by William Shakespeare, audibly and clearly. They will be able to apply their knowledge, understanding and skills to produce a thoughtful interpretation, based on creative engagement with the material and careful preparation.

Learners will then demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of their character and the speech they chose to present, reflecting on the rhythm and imagery in the text.
