All Customers are welcome to submit an Appeal.

A Stage 1 Appeal can be submitted if you are dissatisfied with the outcome of one of the following:

  • The decision of a Reasonable Adjustment / Special Consideration Application
  • The outcome of a Formal Complaint Investigation
  • The outcome for an Enquiry about Results (EAR) Investigation
  • The outcome of a Malpractice / Maladministration Investigation
  • Sanctions imposed

An Appeal cannot be submitted until all procedures relating to the relevant Policy have been exhausted.

The Appeals Policy and Appeals Form can be found at the bottom of this page.

Submitting a Stage 1 Appeal

Before submitting an Appeal application, please ensure that you have read the Appeals Policy fully, and ensure that you have grounds for submitting an Appeal. If you are not sure whether you have grounds, please submit a "General Enquiry" ticket and our Customer Service Team will be happy to assist you.

To submit a Stage 1 Appeal, complete Section 1 of the Appeals form and return it to LAMDA by submitting a "Stage 1 Appeal" Ticket and attaching your completed form.

LAMDA will acknowledge receipt of your Appeal application within 3 working days and a Lead Investigator will be assigned. The Lead Investigator will be a suitable member of staff who has had no prior involvement with this case at any stage.

The Lead investigator will conduct their investigation and provide a written outcome within 15 working days. The Investigator may contact you with additional questions or request for further information.

If the investigation proves to be more complex, then the Investigator may require additional time before finalising their outcome. If this is the case, they will contact you to inform you, provide an update and extended deadline.

Submitting a Stage 2 Appeal

After receiving the outcome of the Stage 1 Appeal, if you are still unsatisfied, you can submit a Stage 2 Appeal.

NB: A Stage 2 Appeal incurs a £100 fee, payable by the Appellant. In the event that the Stage 2 Appeal is Upheld, this fee will be refunded.

To submit a Stage 2 Appeal, complete Section 2 of the Appeals form and submit it to LAMDA by responding to the ticket containing the Outcome of your Stage 1 Appeal.

LAMDA will acknowledge receipt of your Appeal application within 3 working days and a member of the team will contact you to facilitate payment.

Once LAMDA have received a completed Stage 2 Appeal form and the £100 payment, an Independent Reviewer will be assigned.

The Independent Reviewer will conduct their investigation and provide a written outcome within 15 working days. The Reviewer may contact you with additional questions or request for further information.

If the investigation proves to be more complex, then the Reviewer may require additional time before finalising their outcome. If this is the case, they will contact you to inform you, provide an update and extended deadline.

If the Independent Reviewer upholds your Stage 2 Appeal, suitable action will be taken in accordance with the relevant LAMDA policy and the £100 fee will be refunded.

If the Independent Reviewer rejects your Stage 2 Appeal, the £100 fee will not be refunded.

Should you remain unsatisfied with the outcome of the Stage 2 Appeal, you may escalate the appeal to relevant Regulator:

  • OFQUAL - England
  • Qualification Wales - Wales
  • CCEA Regulation - Ireland
